Gretna, NE - Gretna Public Schools is proud to announce that Andy Boone, Director of Assessment and Nebraska's 2022 Presidential Awardee for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST), has been honored with the prestigious national award. This recognition is the highest recognition given by the United States government for K-12 science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) teaching.

Recognized for his commitment to advancing STEM education, Boone has 14 years of elementary teaching experience, including 11 years at Thomas Elementary and time at Harvest Hills Elementary. Passionate about mathematical literacy, he engages students through problem-solving and critical thinking.

As a Presidential Awardee, Boone receives a certificate signed by President Biden, a $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation, and a trip to Washington D.C., for recognition events and professional development. He joins a distinguished network of over 5,500 honored educators since 1983.
