The Gretna Public Schools Transportation Department wrapped up the school year with a special last day breakfast celebration. Along with enjoying time together and reflecting on another successful year, the department also recognized three outstanding drivers on their retirement: Ardell Savage, Denny Savage, and Tracie Hurtz.
Ardell, Denny, and Tracie have each dedicated years of service to safely transporting students and supporting Gretna Public Schools every day. Their commitment, reliability, and care for students and families have made a lasting impact on our district and community.
We are incredibly grateful for everything they have done throughout their careers and wish them happiness and relaxation in retirement. Congratulations and thank you for your service.

This is a reminder that Field Day is tomorrow! We are monitoring the forecast closely, and while the weather looks a bit spotty, our plan at this time is to move forward with Field Day as scheduled.
To help students stay comfortable throughout the day, please send your child with an extra pair of shoes and socks if possible, especially in the event of wet conditions.
Additionally, if you did not sign up for school lunch, please remember to send your child with a lunch from home for the day.
As we continue to monitor the weather, there is a possibility that some of our younger students with later Field Day times may need to move indoors depending on conditions. If adjustments become necessary, we will communicate those changes as soon as possible.
We may also need a little grace and flexibility throughout the day if weather conditions require us to start activities outdoors and then transition groups indoors. Our goal is to keep the day safe, fun, and enjoyable for all students while making the best decisions possible with the weather.
If you plan to join your student(s) for their Field Day time, the schedule is added.

Our 4th graders stepped back in time for an unforgettable Pioneer Day! Students enjoyed eating lunch from tin cans, playing pioneer-style games, and experiencing a little glimpse of life on the prairie. It was a day full of learning, laughter, and hands-on fun.

Field Day will take place on May 18th this year. Students will enjoy a variety of fun games and activities throughout the day.
Parents and families are welcome to join us and cheer on our students! We would love to have you there to help celebrate a day filled with teamwork, laughter, and school spirit.

We are so proud of these young learners and the heart they bring to each day!

Students from all of our elementary schools came together for a 2-mile run filled with energy, determination, and school spirit. It was amazing to see so many smiling faces, encouraging cheers, and students pushing themselves to reach the finish line!

Using blocks, they worked together to recreate our school—thinking carefully about shapes, spaces, and all the important places that make our building special!
