Today we had a special opportunity to lend a helping hand to our neighbors from Vala’s Pumpkin Patch! With storms rolling in, they needed some extra gentle hands to safely release 450 butterflies, and our students were happy to help!

Thanks to our amazing Harvest Hills community, students reached the $2,000 donation milestone for the Harvest Run and unlocked Silly Hair & Hat Day!

It’s all about apples in Miss Beeson’s class! Students had a bushel of fun creating apple crafts, practicing subitizing with apples, and putting their math skills to work by calculating class favorites after an apple taste test. Learning is extra sweet when you can taste it, too!
Harvest Hills was excited to welcome author Justin Colón for a special book talk! Our students enjoyed hearing about his books, learning about his journey as an author, and getting a behind-the-scenes look at the creativity that goes into bringing stories to life. What a fun way to celebrate reading and inspire our young Guardians!
There’s nothing better than seeing our Guardian community show up for one of our own! Students, staff, and families gathered at the Gretna High volleyball game to cheer on our very own Coach Schram.
Harvest Hills is excited to offer Beyond the Book, a six-session group designed for parents and caregivers who are supporting a child with anxiety. Together, participants will read Anxious Kids, Anxious Parents, participate in small-group discussions, explore helpful resources and strategies, and connect with other families.

A big thank you to Rooted Church for treating our Harvest Hills staff to a Dirty Soda Bar during our work day! It was such a fun surprise and the perfect pick-me-up for our team. We are so thankful for the support and kindness you continue to show our staff and school community!
It’s apple tasting time in Mrs. Alvarado’s kindergarten class! Our kindergarteners had fun tasting different varieties of apples and deciding which one was their favorite. Learning is extra sweet when you get to taste-test along the way!
Miss Sughroue 5th grade and and Mrs. Alvarado’s Kindergarten classes came together for some buddy classroom fun! Our 5th graders make wonderful role models and playmates for our youngest learners. It was so fun to see students connecting, playing, and building friendships across grade levels!
Career Day fun in 1st grade! Our first graders took a class survey to find out what everyone wants to be when they grow up. It was so much fun seeing all of their big dreams and learning about the many different careers they’re interested in. We can’t wait to see where the future takes these Guardians!

Today was our very first Hero Huddle at Harvest Hills Elementary!
Students in grades K–5 switched classrooms to meet with their Hero Huddle teacher and a special group of fellow Guardians from across different grade levels. Together, they worked on a fun project while building new connections throughout our school.

Our 5th grade HAL students at Harvest Hills have been busy putting their STEM skills to work! Through hands-on projects, students are using creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork to take on exciting challenges.

Kindergarteners in Mrs. Leiting’s class are putting their math skills into action! Students had fun learning about position words like above, below, beside, and between through hands-on learning. Way to go, kindergarteners!
Our Harvest Hills staff spent time learning together through professional development focused on play-based learning, led by our very own preschool teachers! We loved seeing their expertise in action and learning new ways to incorporate purposeful play, creativity, and hands-on experiences into learning.
Kindergarteners have been exploring how to keep the beat with the help of egg shakers. It's always a great day in the music when you add instruments!
Our preschoolers are learning with Mat Man! Through building Mat Man together, students are strengthening body awareness, listening skills, sequencing, and the early skills they’ll use for drawing and writing. We love seeing our youngest Guardians learn through hands-on fun!
This week, our preschoolers are learning all about colors! They went on a color hunt around the classroom and became little artists as they experimented with mixing paint colors to see what new colors they could create. Learning is extra fun when it’s colorful!
