At Harvest Hills Elementary, we have an open check out policy. Students are welcome to check out at anytime during the week. They are not restricted to checking out at only their class' scheduled weekly library time. The quantity of library books at any given times is as follows.

Kindergarten: Two picture books

First Grade: One picture book and one nonfiction or chapter book

Second Grade: Two books

Third Grade: Two books

Fourth Grade: Two books

Fifth Grade: Two books

All check outs are for a duration of two weeks, although most students will checkout at least once weekly. I will allow for a fifth book in grades 2 - 5 for research projects, but the books must remain in the classroom.

All students are allowed a total of 4 books out, so if they forget to return one, they are still able to check out.

No fines will be issued for late returns, however if a book is damaged or lost, a replacement fee will be assessed.
